Revised Project Outline – Teacher In-Service on the Integration of Technology


Phase 1 (June 1st to July 5th)

Tasks:
  • Creation of a subpage in Wiki dedicated as the starting point for the In-Service that will be the final product. (Due Date – June 7th)
    • 2 Subpages will be under the In-Service Page
      • 1. Understanding the Computer and Teacher Resources 101
      • 2. Using Internet in Your Classroom

  • Camtasia or Jing video on how to use the network drives (Due Date – June 12th)
    • Script written for video and video recorded at school.
  • Camtasia or Jing video on the use of Powerschool, showing the most commonly used features of the program. (Due Date – June 12th)
    • Script written for video and video recorded at school.
    • Cheat sheet saved as PDF and saved on Page 1 of In-Service Wiki.
  • Basic overview video of how to use a computer and the features of a desktop and a laptop. This video will be recorded and edited together using Pinnacle Studio. (Due Date – June 19th)
    • Script written for video and video recorded.
  • Basic overview video of how to hook a projector up with a laptop (Due Date – June 19th)
    • Script written for video and video recorded.
    • Cheat sheet saved as PDF and saved on Page 1 of In-Service Wiki.
  • Videos uploaded to Page 1 of Wiki cataloged in the proper order they will be presented during the In-Service Day. (Due Date – June 26th)
  • Peer Review of Phase 1 (Due Date – June 28th)
  • Conference Call to be Scheduled before July 5th (Due Date – June 24th)
  • Phase 1 Completed by July 5th

Phase 2 (July 6th to July 19th)


Tasks:
  • Introduction to the Internet and online teaching assignments. Teachers will look at some basic Hotlists and Webquests that have been pre-made. (Due Date – July 9th)
    • Handout of what Webquests and Hotlists are.
    • Resources sheets on websites that can be used to make these types of projects. Saved as PDF on Page 2 of In-Service Wiki.
    • Camtasia or Jing video that navigates teachers through the features of a webquest and the basic outline of what a webquest should look like.
  • Creation of a Wiki subpage from Page 2 that has examples of different types of webquests and hotlists already created. (Due Date – July 11th)
    • The page will have links to webquests that I have created and also sites that teachers can access where other teachers have shared their webquests.
  • Peer Review of Phase 2 (Due Date – July 12th)
  • Conference Call to be Scheduled before July 19th (Due Date – July 9th)
  • Phase 2 Completed by July 19th

Phase 3 (July 20th to July 31st)


Tasks:
  • Create two parts of the Webquest section in the In-Service. (Due Date – July 22nd)
    • There will be two sections to the In-Service; one section will be for the beginner to novice computer user on webquests and how to make a simplified version through a word document. This will utilize the hotlists that we have already discussed. Directions will be made to follow.
    • The second section will include the more experienced computer users and will utilize the information already created on using and making webquests from Phase 2
  • Writing out the rationale for the In-Service days. (Due Date – July 24th)
    • This will be done on the main page as well as each individual page.
    • The Rationales will explain how and why these in-services were created and when they will be occurring. The change is to have these done on different days throughout the year to make them more accessible for staff members.
  • Finishing touches to be added to Wiki Page before the in-service can be given. (Due Date – July 25th)
    • This will include any other aesthetic features that need to be completed, (i.e. pictures, etc.)
    • Tie up any loose ends that may not have been completed already.

  • Peer Review of Phase 3 (Due Date – July 26th)
  • Conference Call to be Scheduled before July 31st (Due Date – July 20th)
  • Phase 3 Completed by July 31st
  • Finishing touches to In-Service Wiki will be completed by July 31st
